PPG D8140 2K UHS CLEARCOAT 5LT

PPG D8140 is a 2K UHS acrylic urethane clearcoat designed for the repair and repainting of panels originally finished with clearcoats over both single-coat and 2-coat systems. Specifically formulated for use over the ENVIROBASE® High Performance color line, this clearcoat offers a superior finish without the need for thinners and complies with VOC regulations.

It can be applied in two ways: the standard "one visit" (medium coat followed by a full coat without flash-off) or in two full coats. For optimal results, application at temperatures above 15ºC is recommended.

This clearcoat requires the use of specific catalysts depending on the working temperature

• PPG D8236 (Up to 20°C)
• PPG D8242 (20°C – 25 ºC)
• PPG D8243 (25°C - 30°C)
• PPG D8244 (Over 30°C)

For special needs, additives such as

• Deltron D814 Plasticiser (flexible surfaces)
• Deltron D819 Matt Flexibiliser (matt or satin appearance on flexible surfaces)
• Deltron D843 (fine) and D844 (coarse) Texture Additives.

Drying

• Fully dry at 60°C*: 30 minutes
• Fully dry at 20°C: 16 hours
• Fully dry with IR (medium wave): 8 - 15 minutes (depending on color)

Note: Baking times are at metal temperature. Additional time must be added for the metal to reach the recommended temperature.
