DERMAUTOLOGY 2K SPRAY PUTTY 1.5KG is a 2-component polyester putty designed for spray application, perfect for filling large surfaces in bodywork repairs, such as roofs or panels. Its latest generation formula, with a high solids content, provides exceptional filling properties, allowing for the creation of a thick layer up to 300 µm per coat. This putty is suitable for repairs on metal or alloy substrates and allows dilution up to 5% with thinner, offering versatility in application according to the job's needs. The MEKP catalyst (peroxide) is included.
In addition to its filling capacity, this putty stands out for its optimal adhesion, fast drying, best possible elasticity, and ease of sanding, making it an ideal product for surface preparation in restoration and special production work.
Surface Preparation
The substrates to be treated must be carefully sanded and cleaned. 2K SPRAY PUTTY offers ideal adhesion on steel, aluminum, and substrates treated with Epoxy and old paints with proven repainting ability. It should not be used on thermoplastic or nitro synthetic paints. If a primer has been applied, ensure it is completely dry before applying the putty.
For cleaning exposed fiberglass, the use of acetone is recommended. Do not use wet or acidic cleaning cloths. Galvanized steel or sandblasted galvanized steel surfaces must be pre-treated with an epoxy primer to avoid adhesion problems. For large bare metal surfaces, pre-treatment with an epoxy primer is recommended.
Pre-painted surfaces, aluminum putty, and polyester putty should be pre-sanded with P180 or P240 grit sandpaper. Remove sanding residue before applying the putty.
How to Use
Mix the product well until a uniform color and consistency are obtained. The mixing ratio is 3% by weight, and it can be diluted up to 5%. Apply the material with a primer gun with a 2.0 mm nozzle (or larger, following the manufacturer's specifications) in 2-3 coats, allowing a 5-minute flash-off time between coats at 20°C.
Sanding
Drying time may vary depending on the applied layer thickness. For 2 coats, the drying time at 20°C is approximately 3 hours. It can be sanded after 3 hours at 20°C, 25 minutes at 60°C, or with short-wave IRT at 80 cm for 5-10 minutes. After drying, sand the putty with P400 to P600 grit abrasive paper to prepare for the subsequent steps.
